Guitar

Guitar is a great instrument to learn for ages 9 and up. Both acoustic and electric guitar lessons are offered. From beginner level to advanced level, we will go over topics such as tuning, chord shapes, rhythm strumming, scales, soloing techniques, improvisation, fingerpicking, hybrid-picking, and music reading. In addition, we will learn many great songs including ones of your choosing!

Piano

The piano is very easy to learn, age 5 and up is recommended. We will use the comprehensive curriculum with Piano Adventures by Faber; it is super fun and easy to follow. Topics include music reading, playing techniques, music theory, and performance skills. We will also learn tunes from movies, video games, and popular songs.

Ukulele

Ukulele is a unique instrument that has a joyful and soothing sound. Because of its smaller size, it can be an easier instrument for a smaller child, age 5 and up, to learn on. Many older teens and college students show an interest in ukulele lessons. Ukulele is small, lightweight, and portable, a great instrument to have on campus, at school, at parties, or anywhere you might want to strum some chords and sing a few tunes!

Besides teaching, I compose and produce music for film, television, and video games. I have 20 years of experience using Cubase and other plugins to create music. If you have a dream to produce and compose your music to share with the world, I can help you with the setup and the training required to create your first production!

Ear Training

By studying music theory and ear training, one can compose music for many applications. In addition, understanding music theory will help tremendously with playing an instrument. I have designed a curriculum for music theory that is easy to understand. There are many online training tools available that I will show you how to use. The student will create original compositions using what we will learn in the lessons.
